Blog 1: Always remember you're unique... just like everyone else

Hello! So my name is Amanda Pyle, but I prefer to be called Mandy.  I am a freshman at Ohio State and my major is Radiological Sciences and Technologies but my goal is to continue on to Med School and become a Radiologist.  I am also a commuter who lives in Lancaster, Ohio which is roughly 40 miles south of Columbus so I drive an hour one way every day.  I have played the trumpet for 8 years now and it is something I enjoy in my free time.  Music is a passion for me; I don’t think I could live without it.  I can and will listen to almost any kind of music except sad country or death metal.  I love Eminem and I want to meet him.  Besides music I also enjoy reading for fun.  Mystery thrillers are my favorite, so Stephen King is a must have in my collection.  Aside from that I enjoy hanging out with my friends.  I am willing to try almost anything once.  I also have a horrible fear of clowns, which yes I do know is irrational but I cannot get over it.  I am a very sarcastic person.  I am quick with witty comebacks and always enjoy a good joke.  I am a caring person and try too hard to please everyone, which is in all reality impossible.  I wear my feelings on my sleeve and take everything to heart, which is in my own opinion a major flaw.  I am quite shy when I first meet people and it may take me a few minutes to talk if I have to say something first but I get over that quickly and become an outgoing person.  My thoughts are extremely random and I like to integrate quotes from my favorite movies into everyday conversation.  People tell me I have a cute laugh, which is good because I am always laughing and when I laugh I cry which is weird but uncontrollable.

  1. I LOVE mystery thrillers! Except sometimes they're a little too thrilling and scare the crap put of me.

  2. Ah, but that is sometimes the best part. When I read them, especially late at night, it forces me to continue turning the pages so I can find a stopping point that isn't scary as hell. It's awesome that we have this in common though.
