Blog 45: Family is like pi - natural, irrational, and very important.

                I have been many places within the United States, and of course to Canada.  I think the trip that meant the most to me was the one I took a few years ago with my parents, aunts, uncles, two cousin, and grandma.  We did a little bit of everything that year it seemed like.  We went to Florida for a few days and chilled at the beach.  Then we flew to Reno, Nevada where we stayed for a week.  While in Reno, we visited the surrounding areas as well.  We stopped to see the famous Cali Neva Lodge.  We also took a tour around Lake Tahoe, and even got to see the monument at Donner Pass.  We even spent one night over in California where we got to see the giant red wood trees.  Then we drove south to visit San Francisco and took a tour of Alcatraz.  This was probably my favorite part of the vacation.  Getting to tour Alcatraz was incredible and you could really see all of this history the place has to offer.  I am not big on history but it was so cool to see the cells and hear about the different attempts to escape and see what it was like to be a prisoner there.  San Francisco itself is a very interesting and busy city.  To drive over the Golden Gate Bridge gives you a sense of awe.  Overall this trip was my favorite because we did so many interesting and new things.  Plus, it is always nice to spend every waking minute with your family, whether it is in a fifteen passenger van or in four hotel rooms clustered together with the doors open to each other 24/7.  J
