Blog 3: Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try

For this 3rd blog post, I watched the episode “The Savage Curtain” from Star Trek: The Original Series.  In the episode, there is a test to figure out whether the ideas of good outweigh those ideals of evil.  Things happen like this in the real world all the time.  We have a legal system in place to insure that the moral good will is what always triumphs over the corrupted evil in society.  Not only do we have laws to prevent evil from dominating, but we also have several movies, television shows, and plays that illustrate the good guy always coming out on top.
However, some people believe that the world is not split so evenly between good and evil and that it is all a shade of gray.  To others it is not a choice of good verse evil but rather a decision to pick the lesser of two evils.  In the modern world, I can see both aspects currently and continuously in effect for people across the world.  If you are one of those people who still believe that there is that fine line and choice between good and evil then you may like this episode.  It does a great job in representing the classic “struggle” where it seems that good has actually failed to suppress evil but in those final moments good steps it up a notch and pulls through for a win.  In this blogger’s opinion, there is always going to be that choice of good or evil but sometimes there is going to be a middle area of gray.
