Blog 13: How you think when you lose determines how long it will be until you win..

This blog post is going to cover an article I found that pertains to the Cold War.  I have decided to use the Cold War as my real life experience, or at least try to.  The article entitled “The Cold War is Over, but U.S. Preparation for It Continues” mainly talks about today and our increased amount of military funding.  In the recent years under the Bush Administration, military spending is equivalent to that spent during the years of the Cold War.  Why are we continuing to advance our military?  A question that is asked and pursued in the article.  It seems that the United States feels a need to still be considered a world dominating power.  Even if America lacks the troop numbers or even troop strength, there is one thing they will never be lacking in.  That one thing is weapon technology.  If there is ever a war the United States is going to be a part of, then they are going to make sure that the have the most advanced and supreme technology to insure victory.  The Cold War itself was about who could have the greatest and most powerful weapons, or in simple terms, which one could have the biggest stick.  But withal of the advancements the question to be asked is, who are we preparing to fight?  The Pentagon seems to be preparing us to fight the Cold War all over again.  In conclusion of the article, it is stated that the United States is in fact one of the most powerful and dominating forces out there… if it would come to a cold war.  If, however, events led us to more acts of terrorism, then the United States might not be as prepared as we would hope.
